The SMACNA Executive Committee is the association’s policy and steering body, responsible for all long-term planning, financial budgets, investments, policy positions, and statements.

Carol Duncan, President-Elect

Carol Duncan is SMACNA’s President-Elect and CEO and Owner of General Sheet Metal in Clackamas, Oregon. With nearly 40 years of leadership and expertise in the sheet metal industry, Duncan has helped grow the company from 25 employees to more than 180 since becoming CEO in 2000—building a positive corporate culture and keeping both employees and clients happy. General Sheet Metal specializes in mechanical, architectural and HVAC fabrication, installation and repair services for the commercial and industrial markets.

Tom Martin, Secretary-Treasurer

Tom Martin is SMACNA’s Secretary-Treasurer and President of T.H. Martin, Inc., a full-service mechanical contractor based in Cleveland, Ohio.  Martin is an industry innovator and highly regarded member of SMACNA-Cleveland, which represents more than 60 contractor firms in northeast Ohio. He has served as the chapter’s president since 2014.

Todd Hill, Vice-President

Todd Hill is SMACNA’s Vice President and is president of Allen Park, Michigan-based Ventcon. Ventcon has a long history serving companies in the Detroit area with commercial and industrial services, including several customers in the automotive industry. In 2022, Ventcon expanded its manufacturing footprint by building a new facility in Jackson, TN to service the Blue Oval City in Haywood County and BlueOvalSK Battery Park in central Kentucky.

Aaron Hilger, CEO

Aaron Hilger is SMACNA’s Chief Executive Officer. He assumed the role in January, 2022 after a long career leading the Builders Exchange of Rochester as their President & CEO.  At Builders Exchange he managed 13 local and state wide trade associations, including the Construction Industry Association of Rochester, Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) Rochester, the Roofers Industry Fund and New York State SMACNA.
