About the Event

Taking place at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess in Scottsdale, AZ from December 10–12, the December 2023 Council of Chapter Representatives Meeting gives you the opportunity to hear all the latest SMACNA developments and future plans, along with the opportunity to have your Chapter's voice heard.

This meeting includes a welcome reception on the evening of December 10, followed by a full day-and-a-half of:

- Reports from SMACNA elected officials
- Reports from SMACNA National executives
- Guest speakers
- Open forum discussions
- Numerous opportunities to network with your colleagues

Attendees can look forward to engaging in discussions and informative sessions on various subjects crucial for their respective chapters' growth and success. Here's a sneak peek at some of the critical topics that will be covered:

  • Recent Developments in the Legal Landscape - In a rapidly changing regulatory environment, staying informed about the latest regulations is essential. Attendees will be provided insights into recent updates impacting chapters and how to navigate these changes.

Local Joint Adjustment Board Training

Local Joint Adjustment Board (LJAB) Training will take place immediately follow the Council meeting. This training provides valuable instruction and training on how to conduct a LJAB hearing and ensures that chapters and LJAB contractor panelists have the information and resources necessary to meet that challenge. The program focuses on conducting a proper LJAB hearing, handling common procedural objections, creating a good record in cases of deadlock, and maintaining arbitration immunity. This program is offered free of charge.
