SMACNA strongly urges all chapters to have a Conflict of Interest Policy in place, which should include:
- Conflict of Interest Defined
- Outside interests
- Outside activities
- Gifts, Gratuities and Entertainment
- Serving as a Trustee
- Definitions
- Procedures
- Confidentiality
- Review of Policy
Additionally, when determining conflicts of interested, parties should complete a Conflict of Interest Disclosure Statement to identify other areas of potential conflict.
