As a result of expanded operations during the ongoing pandemic, one medical production facility in California benefited from converting their insulated ductwork into pre-insulated phenolic systems. By fabricating Thermaduct’s round InspiralR and Kingspan KoolDuct rectangular systems, Tru-Duct was able to provide ductwork for this facility that would not require additional structural considerations and eliminate the need for most seismic bracing.
“On this project, the medical lab was converting a wooden framed building into usable production. By reducing the weight of their duct system we were able to really help the customer.” says Drew Miles II, Tru-Duct.
A combination of Thermaduct’s InspiralR round ductwork paired with rectangular Kingspan KoolDuct allowed this installation to meet their HVAC system's R-6 insulation requirements with much lower weight loads being applied to the building. This allowed the customer to open up more usable space for production without the need to modify their building.
